Maruti Suzuki Ertiga vs Renault Triber: The Affordable 7-Seater MUVs

In terms of sales, the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga is among the bestselling Maruti Suzuki cars in the segment and country. The primary reason is because of the mileage it offers, despite being a seven-seater. It is popular among private buyers and fleet operators. Dimensions

Let’s start with the Renault Triber. As mentioned earlier, this MUV is a sub-four-metre car. It has a length of 3991mm, a width of 1739mm, and a height of 1643mm. The wheelbase of 2636mm. It is also lighter than the Ertiga, as it has a kerb weight of 947kg.
On the other hand, the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga has a length of 4395mm, a width of 1735mm, a height of 1690mm, and it sits on a wheelbase of 2740mm. Except with a marginal difference in width, the Ertiga is dimensionally bigger from all proportions. It has a kerb weight of 1150kg.

On the other hand, the Renault Triber is based on the same CMF-A+ platform as other Renault cars: the Kwid and the Kiger. It also underpins the Nissan Magnite. However, the French sub-four-metre MUV is solely powered by a 1.0-litre Energy (999cc) naturally-aspirated, petrol engine that can produce 71 bhp at 6250 rpm and 96 Nm of peak torque at 3500 rpm.
It doesn’t have a mild hybrid technology nor a turbo variant on offer. However, as per sources, this MUV has a high chance to get an optional turbocharged petrol engine. It could be the Renault Kiger’s turbo engine, though.
As for the transmission, it has a standard five-speed manual gearbox and an optional AMT gearbox.
