About CTET Exam

CTET is a national-level exam administered by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) to determine candidates’ eligibility for primary and upper primary teaching positions in central government schools such as NVS, KVS, and others.

Many private schools, in addition to government schools, consider Certificates to be mandatory eligibility criteria. Thus, a Certificate is required for teaching candidates seeking employment in both public and private schools.

The CTET exam is administered online twice a year. The CTET exam consists of two papers. Paper 1 is for candidates for Classes 1–5 (Primary Teachers), and Paper 2 is for candidates for Classes 6–8 (Secondary Teachers) (Elementary Teachers). Candidates who want to teach grades 1-8 can take both papers.

English, Hindi, Urdu, Punjabi, Sanskrit, Marathi, Mizo, Nepali, Oriya, Assamese, Gujarati, Kanada, Khasi, Malayalam, Bangla, Manipuri, Tamil, Telugu, Tibetan, and Garo are among the 20 languages used in the exam.
