It is the most prestigious international football tournament in the world and has been described as the “world’s biggest sporting event”.
The 20th FIFA World Cup was held in Russia from 14 June to 15 July 2018. A total of 64 teams competed in the final tournament, with host nation Russia finishing top of the qualification phase.
