Gangotri Gaumukh Tapovan Trek

The Gangotri Gaumukh trek commences from a holy place called Gangotri and goes through the beautiful mountains with the capped snow. Dehradun is the starting point of the journey, from where you can travel via road to the holy town of Gangotri. It is located at an altitude of 11200 feet. You must consider a day for acclimatization in Gangotri itself as you will be gaining altitude in days to come. After a day of acclimatization you will be heading to the first campsite called Chirbasa, which is a 9 kilometers trek.

The trek to Chirbasa from Gangotri goes across Gangotri National Park. Here you would be camping on the banks of Bhagirathi River that accompanies you throughout the trek. The next campsite is Bhojbasa which is the only site before the final summit. The trail is not a well laid one, and you must cross the river at a certain point via a pulley-trolly system. The summit from Bhojbasa is 9 kilometers  and would be the longest trail in the journey because you must take a to and fro journey from the summit completing 18 kilometers in a single day. After a hard trail on the rock moraine the magnificent view of Mt. Shivling will take your breath away for a moment and bring back the energy in you. 

 

Pin Parvati Trek 

Pin Parvati Trek is the most sought after mountain pass located in Himachal Pradesh and is at around 17500 feet above sea level. The speciality of the trek is that once you cross the valley you will experience a sea change in landscape of the region from green lush meadows to sudden snowy mountain slopes turned into barren lands. It can be considered as a moderately difficult pass to trek in terms of trekking. Pin Parvathi trek is the most challenging trek and is recommended mainly for experienced trekkers. You must learn to acclimatize with the weather of the Himalayan ranges and climate of the region in order to start the trek.

Pin Parvati Trek is a 10 day trek with the starting point from Barshaini. The first place for you to camp in Himachal Pradesh is Kheerganga followed by Tundabujh, which is an easy walk. But you must be careful from Tunda Bhuj to Thakur Kuan, the next destination, as it is a bit tricky and adventurous. In the next couple of days out of a total of 10 days you must cross places like Pandav Bridge, Mantalai lake and Kaza in order to reach Pin Parvathi summit. So do enjoy the trail and expect to have many ups and downs that are both challenging and adventurous.

 

Indrahar Pass Trek 

The famous Indrahar is a part of Dhauladhar range of Himalayas in Himachal Pradesh standing at an altitude of about 4300 meters. It is certainly situated near to Dharamshala, which is one of the famous tourist towns of Himachal Pradesh. Indrahar trek is a 4-day trek and the journey begins from Dharamshala. From Dharamshala you need to drive via road to McLeodganj, which is at an altitude of around 2000 meters above sea level.

The trek to Indrahar Pass is at moderate to difficult level mainly because of its steepness. The actual trail starts at Gallumatha temple. You can consider it as a landmark for Indrahar Pass. From here the trek involves the places like Triund, Snowline, Laka, and Lahesh Caves, which finally lead you to Indrahar Pass. So, after a long trek you will be reaching Indrahar Pass that welcomes you with beautiful views of fog and snow even in the afternoon. Hence, you surely feel the worthiness of the trek and the hard journey of Indrahar Pass. 

 

Pindari Glacier Trek

Pindari Glacier is located in Uttarakhand and this treks is part of Nanda Devi National Park and Wildlife Sanctuary. Karkia is the first site to stay in order to reach Pindari Glacier. An interesting thing to notice here is that instead of staying in camps you get to stay in some beautiful domes, which is quite rare. From Karkia the trail goes towards a village called Khati, which is 5 kilometers away from Karkia. You will get to cross a long bridge that is laid above the Pindari River.

The next campsite is in Dwali (6500 feet) and then to Phurkia (10500 feet), which is a bit tricky. On the campsite you need to learn how to wear microspikes, because it is the day you need to walk on snow with an ascend. Finally you will get to step on the point which you are waiting for, which is Zero Point, that is Pindari Glacier.
