8 Things to Do This Winter in The Woodlands
The Woodlands has been a little colder this past week and it’s not going to get any warmer before March, so why not try some outdoor activities? Here is my list of favorite things you can do in The Forest District:
With trails that are both scenic and challenging, you’ll never be bored here.
1. On a cold, crisp day try going for dinner at one of the many restaurants that offer al fresco dining. Fielding’s Wood Grill are perfect spots to take your date night out on this delicious experience! You might want something more family and kid-friendly though if you’re looking in Grimaldi’s Pizzeria and Cheesecake Factory will have anything from deep-dish pizza pockets all the way up to high cuisine expectations with their famous cheesecakes.
2. If you are looking for an active way to spend your day, try out one of the few trampoline parks in existence.
Sky Zone near Houston or Urban Air Spring on Highway 59 North should be high on that list!
I recently went with my family after they were invited by some friends who had paid a visit last weekend; we all really enjoyed ourselves there and now want more often than not because it’s so much fun!!!
3. Rent a kayak and paddle around Lake Woodlands in cooler weather for an even more enjoyable time!
Riva Row Boathouse has rentals available, perfect if you want to get out there on those warmer days of summer or bring your family along with friends during the weekends when they’re not swimming at this pool.
4. Visit The Woodlands Children’s Museum if you have little ones! Perfect for arts and crafts, story time and free play – kids from infants through about seven years old will love this museum. Fun times on rainy or cold days too!
5. After a long day of work, it’s refreshing to get out on the golf course. Whether you’re looking for some time with friends or by yourself and just want something different than what is offered in your town every other weekend; there are plenty of public courses within driving distance that offer challenging hole layouts while also being beautifully scenic (Augusta Pines Equestrian Center).
6. The Trolley is the best way to explore downtown Pittsburgh. For just one dollar, you can hop on board and enjoy an extensive tour of restaurants, shops, festivals – all while being guided by our friendly conductors! The Waterway Trolleys are especially popular during Cinco de Mayo weekend when they stop at various points around town including the woodlands mall; Town Green Park; Central Park.
7. The George Mitchell Nature Preserve has it all: a lake with fishing opportunities; hiker-friendly paths through the woods where kids can explore on their own terms while adults enjoy nature at its most serene or engage in tranquil meditation nearby under treetop perches – whatever your mood dictates! Bring some food & companionship to make this one day out of many wonderful memories which will last forever in time capsules filled by family lore passed down over generations past.
8.If you are looking for a fun way to spend your day, Legend’s Sports Complex has it all! With 8 courts of hoops and group fitness classes as well.
Don’t forget that they also have a rock climbing wall in addition to indoor/outdoor volleyball courts – perfect
